Come and explore the magical Land of Luck with Sam Greenfield voiced by Eva Noblezada and Directed by Peggy Holmes. Luck was released on the 5th of August 2022 by distributing company, Apple TV+ and animated by animation studio – Skydance Animations, which did an incredible job on the animation that I will get into later. In Luck, we follow the life of Sam Greenfield, an orphan at the age of 18 who is about to transition into her life as an adult and possibly the luckiest person in the world. During one of her walks late at night, she comes across a cat by the name…

Lightyear
Join Agnus MacLane, the director of Lightyear together with animation studios: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Pixar Animations, in this epic original origin story. For those that don’t know, which I doubt, Lightyear is a spin-off film adapted from the Toy Story series that first hit theatres in 1995 and is written by Agnus MacLane, Matthew Aldrich, and Jason Headley. This film has been highly expected as it dives deep into one of the most prominent characters of the franchise, Buzz Lightyear, and the events that made and shaped him into who we know him as today. Now I know some people may be asking themselves how a toy…

Minions: The Rise of Gru
Director Kyle Balda returns with the second installment of our favorite adorable twinkies Minions: The Rise of Gru. Production companies; Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures released the film on the 1st of July 2022 with an opening weekend that made over $107,000,000 in the US and Canada. As the name of the film suggests, this film aims to fill the audience and die-hard fans of the Minions franchise on how Gru came to be. We start the film in 1976, which even to-date people say the 70s was the best decade to be alive; so we know things are about to get real funky as we first meet Belle Bottom…

The Bob’s Burgers Movie
The Bob’s Burgers Movie directed by Loren Bouchard and Bernard Derriman has me feeling overwhelmed with disappointment and criticism. The movie was released on the 27th of May 2022, distributed by 20th Century Studios, and adapted from Bob’s Burgers the sitcom series created by Loren Bouchard. For a sitcom that’s been running for over eleven seasons, one would expect something different, something creative and long-lasting on the mind however I found very little to go back to. The Bob’s Burgers Movie does little to cater to anyone that’s never seen the sitcom on FOX but strangely enough, continues its never-ending trend of making the Fishoeders the villains. …

Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe
Directors Albert Calleros and John Rice came together with MTV to produce what I’d like to call a thirst-trap film in the name of Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe. The film was released on the 24th of June 2022 and distributed by Paramount+ with the production companies MTV Entertainment Studios and Titmouse. I went into this film completely blind by watching it without any research such as the trailer, cast, or what it was about due to the recognizable characters in Beavis and Butt-Head, and ladies and gentlemen, I did myself a favor. At first, I thought I was giving them a chance due to their popularity…

The Bad Guys
Director Pierre Perifel’s latest animation film, The Bad Guys merge bringing in the new with the old in art style and perspective. The Bad Guys distributed by Universal Pictures was released on the 31st of March 2022 by Universal Pictures. The film is based on the Australian author of children’s books, Aaron Blabey. Straight off the bat, the first element that caught my attention about this film was its old yet crisp art style which had me reminiscing a lot about my childhood. The characters themselves are all animals with their unique traits that I believe someone, somewhere out there in the world, most definitely has some kind of phobia…

The Sea Beast
Director Chris Williams debuts his first solo project in The Sea Beast distributed by Netflix. Best known for his work on Moana and Big Hero 6. From the very first scene, The Sea Beast introduced itself as a film to watch out for, with its phenomenal animation and its enormous beasts that lurk under the ocean. There’s this scene during the film when Jacob and Maisie fall into the ocean, and upon looking down deep into the ocean they lock eyes with the Red Blaster. That scene reminded me of every reason that to this day, I have not taken a cruise nor even attempted to go further…

The Man from Toronto
Director Patrick Hughes best known for his outstanding work on “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” returns with his latest action-comedy The Man from Toronto. The Man from Toronto casts some of the movie industry’s most talented and beloved names such as Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson, and Kaley Cuoco. Right off the bat, The Man from Toronto played by Woody Harrelson makes a very intimidating appearance at the beginning of the film which makes you admire the wealth of talent that this man is. Kevin Hart on the other hand plays the character of Teddy. A good supportive man, that has big dreams and is loyal to a fault however his…
