Martin Campbell is no slouch when it comes right down to the nitty-gritty of actions movies, having directors a handful and more amazing films which as James Bond: Casino Royale and James Bond: Goldeneye. Now we have all heard or seen the Cinderella story, the happy girl who lived with her jealous stepmother and obnoxious sisters, however this one comes with a twist, if you expect anything close to the original material, you’re in for a shock. In my eyes, Cinderella is or was about a girl who dreams of becoming a princess, but who is held back by the influences of her life. One being her mother, and two being her step sisters, who constantly abuse and mistreat her at every turn. The adaptation, however, is so focused on Cinderella’s struggle with gender inequality that it almost feels like a completely different movie.
