Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise is such an unexpected fun-filled adventure film, filled with some of the best acting I’ve seen from Dwayne Johnson ever and I can admit to loving the person a little more from his spectacular adaptation of Captain Frank Wolff. I had never heard of Jungle Cruise before this movie but what’s certain is that within the first ten minutes of the film I already knew Captain Frank Wolff was a con artist when it comes to making money yet, he put a lot of work into making his boat the number choice for tourist, I mean the lengths this man has gone is close to insane. He built…

Kate (2021)
If you are looking for a female main character who knows her way around a close combat fight or shooting skills to match pro gamers during their live streams on call of duty or apex legends, then this is the film for you, listen up people, I’m about to go HAM on this review. I loved it, I genuinely loved and enjoyed this film from start to finish. There were twists and turns at the start and there were twists and turns at the end. What I can reveal about being an assassin is that no matter who you are, no matter the importance or consequences, everyone can be replaced…

V/H/S/ 94 (2021)
VHS94 is the fourth installment in the hit horror anthology franchise from A Shudder Original film, however, it’s only been my first and for a person who’s not into horror all that much, I came to enjoy it. VHS94 has a different feel to it for a horror movie, maybe it’s the style of recording, different scenarios segments, whatever it is, I found myself wanting to see more. The reason why I rarely watch horror movies is that you get the same movie build-up in almost all of them, for example, the cast is always in a dark room walking past an open door that magically closes itself with…

CopShop
Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo, and Alexis Louder bring us one hell of a film, filled with gun-blazing action, unsuspecting betrayals, and American government conspiracies. Now I know, that you know if any bad guy or villain for a better word gets himself arrested to outrun his pursuers, well that pretty much says he’s got no one to run to and is looking to take advantage of the law to get himself out. And that’s pretty much what we got from Copshop. Teddy is a con artist who works as a fixer to get people in high social positions, with the same ideas to get together and come up with…

QueenPins
“QueenPins” was directed and written by film couple Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly based on the true events that occurred in 2012, where three, not two women were arrested in Phoenix Arizona with 25 million dollars worth of fake coupons during the raid. So as you’ve just read, for a film based on true events, there seems to be one more culprit missing. However, this is part of the comedy genre so we can overlook that aspect for now. Imagine selling coupons online and making millions and having the postal services come at you like the FBI. This whole story sounds ridiculous even if you had told me I wouldn’t…

Protege 2021
Martin Campbell is no slouch when it comes right down to the nitty-gritty of actions movies, having directors a handful and more amazing films which as James Bond: Casino Royale and James Bond: Goldeneye. Protege is just another one of those hits however this time Maggie Q takes the lead. Whilst the film does deliver when it comes to actions scenes mostly comparable to John Wick where one is so physically beaten and battered and yet they always find a way to stand back up again. It has however felt a sense of incompleteness in my soul as the story doesn’t answer all of the questions. You would think that when…

CandyMan (2021)
First of all, I would love to take this moment to congratulate Director (Nia DaCosta) for being the first black female to debut atop the U.S Box Office, and boy oh boy is it well earned. Candyman has had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation and story building. At first, I may have thought this would be another remake of all the movies we know and thankfully I was proven wrong. From the beginning and I mean, from its shadow puppetry and cultivating reclamation of the Candyman legend to its racial and political aspects. Nia DaCosta is certainly not only brave but smart and intellectually…

Cinderella (2021)
Now we have all heard or seen the Cinderella story, the happy girl who lived with her jealous stepmother and obnoxious sisters, however this one comes with a twist, if you expect anything close to the original material, you’re in for a shock. In my eyes, Cinderella is or was about a girl who dreams of becoming a princess, but who is held back by the influences of her life. One being her mother, and two being her step sisters, who constantly abuse and mistreat her at every turn. The adaptation, however, is so focused on Cinderella’s struggle with gender inequality that it almost feels like a completely different movie. One would not think it were a Cinderella movie if not for the glass shoe. I struggled to comprehend why the wicked step mother (Idina Menzel) seemed to be more caring and compassionate towards her step daughter even protecting her at…
